The timing

When the lots open.

Gameday parking is won in the morning. Here's the clock, from Friday's RV arrivals to the last walk-in before kickoff.

  1. Fri, 5:30 PM
    RV lots open

RV pass holders can pull in Friday evening and must be out by 10 AM Sunday. Everyone else waits for Saturday.

  2. 7:30 AM
    Campus lots open

Every pre-purchased lot on campus opens at 7:30 AM. Park in the exact lot — and space — printed on your pass.

  3. Kickoff −3:00
    Shuttles start rolling

Park-and-ride buses and the Citibus shuttle begin running from the remote lots to the stadium three hours before kickoff.

  4. Kickoff −2:00
    Raider Alley opens

The pregame party in the Engineering Key kicks off two hours out, with live music, food, and drinks.

  5. Kickoff −0:45
    Head for the gates

Give yourself the walk-in buffer — from the far lots it's a real hike to Jones AT&T.

The options

Four ways to park.

ClosestReserved campus lots

Buy a season or single-game pass through Texas Tech Athletics. Passes are printed and assigned to a specific lot and space — park anywhere else and you risk a tow. Lots open 7:30 AM.

BudgetPark-and-ride

Grab a pass for the USA Auto or S-1 lots, or use the designated free park-and-ride lot. Buses run to the stadium from three hours before kickoff until an hour after the final whistle.

EasiestThe $6 Citibus shuttle

Roundtrip shuttle for $6 per person. Pick-up is north of the John Walker Soccer Complex (Texas Tech Pkwy & 10th St); ADA pick-up is northwest of the Health Sciences Center (5th St).

OvernightRV parking

RV pass holders get in Friday at 5:30 PM and stay through the weekend — just clear out by 10 AM Sunday. Book the pass ahead through Athletics.

Park in your assigned spot — or get towed.

Passes are tied to a specific lot and space. Cars parked in the wrong spot, or blocking the space next to them, are subject to towing. When in doubt, match the number on your pass.

Quick answers

Parking FAQ.

What time do the parking lots open for Texas Tech games?

Pre-purchased campus lots open at 7:30 AM on gameday. RV lots open earlier — 5:30 PM the Friday before — and RVs must exit by 10 AM Sunday.

Is there free parking for Texas Tech football?

Yes. There's a designated free park-and-ride lot with bus service to the stadium. Paid park-and-ride (the USA Auto and S-1 lots) and the $6 Citibus shuttle are the other low-cost ways in without a reserved campus space.

How much is the gameday shuttle?

The Citibus roundtrip shuttle is $6 per person. It runs from three hours before kickoff until one hour after the game ends, with pick-up near the John Walker Soccer Complex.

Where do I buy Texas Tech parking?

Through Texas Tech Athletics — season parking and single-game lots are sold online and on gameday. Passes are printed and tied to a specific lot and space, so park exactly where yours says.

How early should I arrive?

Lots open at 7:30 AM and fill through the morning. Arriving about three hours before kickoff gives you room to park, work through Raider Alley, and still make the opening kick.
